About

Aisteach

Established by a group of booksellers based in Dublin, Aisteach Press is an independent literary journal devoted to weird fiction.

We are hungry for work that leers from shadowy corners, that grins in silent menace. Ireland is an island steeped in a vast, uncanny tradition, and we want fiction that reflects that.

Aisteach is the Irish word for queer and bizarre, and at Aisteach Press the queer and the bizarre are a celebration.

“lISTEN TO THEM, THE CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. wHAT MUSIC THEY MAKE!”

— Bram Stoker, Dracula

“I’ll fight not the thing inside me. Let it eat me up. Please God. I want it to.”

— Eimear McBride, A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing
